Global Climate Strike!

I cannot imagine a more powerful learning experience than leaving school early today to take part in the global climate strike in Paris, France.

The kids and I spent yesterday making our signs and learning more about Greta Thunberg and all the important work she has done to raise awareness around the world.  While we all can't be a Greta Thunberg, we can all do our part.  Our part today was marching with thousands in hopes of waking the leaders of our nations up to take this seriously.  We treat our own abodes with respect and care, why aren't we doing the same with Mother Earth?

In France, there is little question as to whether climate change is real.  It is accepted as a fact.  This differs from what I see in America, where this is still debated or even ignored.  With 200 species a day going extinct, polar icecaps disappearing, and temperatures rising, how can we ignore the facts?

It was so powerful today to see so many people young and old, of all races and all beliefs coming together to support the same cause.  There were no political signs or pitting one party against another.  It was everyone united in the care of Mother Earth.  As many posters shared, time is running out, so what are WE going to do about it?  What difference are YOU going to make today?
